I’m going to open your eyes to the number one reason you might not be making as much money as you desire - even with your incredible talents, unwavering commitment, and determination to grow your business.
And here’s the exciting part: by the end of this article, you’ll not only understand what’s holding you back but also discover how to shift it.
Let me summarise this key reason in one sentence: Money might not be as important to you as you think - and certainly not as important as it needs to be for you to naturally make more of it with your best work. Intrigued? Let’s dive in!

How values shape your reality
Values are the unseen forces driving your actions, decisions, and results. They represent what truly matters to you on a deep, unconscious level and serve as the foundation for your motivation. Think about what you hold dear in your business and life - freedom, family, integrity, or personal growth.
Our values are arranged in a hierarchy within the unconscious mind, with the top three to six carrying the most weight. These are the ones that drive your actions and influence your success the most. For spiritual entrepreneurs thriving and making incredible money doing what they love, the value of money often ranks high on this hierarchy. This inspires them to step out of their comfort zones, embrace opportunities, and create habits aligned with abundance.
For instance, if money is a top value, you’ll feel motivated to bring your ideas—like a transformative coaching programme—into the world, even if selling feels uncomfortable at first. Over time, it becomes second nature to lovingly present your offerings, attract aligned clients, and generate wealth.
But if money ranks low on your values list, the drive to take bold steps might be missing. You may desire financial freedom, but without prioritising money, there’s not enough internal fire to make it happen. The good news? You can shift this hierarchy and bring money to the forefront.
Discovering where money truly sits in your value hierarchy
It’s one thing to say, “Money is very important to me. I would like to make more money.” but it’s another to align your behaviours and choices with that belief. To truly understand where the value of money sits in your hierarchy, I invite you to take a closer look - not just at what you say, but at how you act. Do your actions reflect that money holds significant importance in your life and business? Or is it lower down the ladder than you might realise?
Here’s a practical exercise to gain clarity. Start by listing everything that is important to you in your business - freedom, integrity, service, impact, family, money or whatever resonates. Then, imagine you could only choose one value from that list. Which one would it be? Write it down as your top value. Then go back to your list and ask the same question again: If I could choose only one more, what would it be? Repeat this until you’ve identified your top three to six values.
Shifting the value of money in your hierarchy
Once you’ve done this, reflect on where money appears in your list. Is it one of your top three values, or does it sit further down?
When you discover that money sits lower in your value hierarchy than it needs to - perhaps below the top four—you might want to shift it higher, considering how this impacts your energy, motivation, and decisions in your business.
But not by trying to make yourself value money on the surface; it’s about truly aligning it with your heart’s desires for impact and abundance. When money takes its rightful place, you’ll feel inspired to take bold actions, like creating new offerings or stepping out of your comfort zone to share them.
So How do you shift money’s position in your value system? Start by recognising money’s potential to create positive change. Imagine how welcoming more financial abundance could allow you to serve more clients, invest in your vision, and expand your reach. Raising money’s importance doesn’t mean letting go of cherished values like integrity, family, or freedom - it means understanding how money can enhance them. When you allow yourself to receive fully, you align with your purpose and create a ripple effect of abundance for yourself and everyone you touch.
Is your value of money driven towards abundance or away from lack?
Your beliefs about money shape not just its place in your value hierarchy, but also the energy you bring to it - whether it’s towards or away from.
If money is driven by "away-from" energy, you’ll feel motivated in times of lack—when things are tight, or you’re worried about not having enough - pushing you to act. But as soon as the pressure eases, so does your drive, leading to cycles of effort followed by stagnation.
Successful changemakers, however, embrace a "towards" energy with money. They’re inspired by the excitement of creating, growing, and serving more, regardless of how much they already have. Money becomes a form of love, service, and freedom, consistently fueling action and aligning with greater possibilities. Shifting your beliefs to foster this towards energy transforms not only your motivation but also your business and impact.
A money belief audit
Shifting your beliefs around money begins with awareness, and that means taking a closer look at your current relationship with it.
I will introduce you to one simple yet powerful exercise that can illuminate the hidden patterns and beliefs that are holding you back.
Here’s how it works:
For at least one day, ideally, two or three, pay close attention every time money comes up in your life. Whether you’re spending it, talking about it, planning it, or even just thinking about it—pause and reflect. How do you feel at that moment? What exact words or thoughts come to mind?
Write it all down, use a notepad or your phone, and record your feelings and self-dialogue word for word.
Why is this so important? These reflections reveal your unconscious beliefs about money, the ones influencing your behaviours and keeping it lower in your value hierarchy than it needs to be. This is the first step toward creating a profound shift.
Let me share my personal experience
In those days, when my business was already growing but I was yearning to expand my impact and reach to even more people, I decided to do the money beliefs audit again. During the process, I uncovered a belief that had been unconsciously limiting me;
When my husband spent a significant amount of money on something he loved, he later shared his joy with me. Instead of celebrating his happiness, I felt a surge of irritation. My immediate reaction was to say, “Oh my goodness, why are you wasting money on this? Do you think I’m—excuse my language—pooping money?” It wasn’t my proudest moment, but it was an eye-opener.
That reaction revealed an underlying belief that money was finite, that there was a limited amount of it I could create. This belief was quietly keeping money lower in my hierarchy of values and, more importantly, it was blocking me from receiving even more. Once I recognised it, I reflected on what it truly meant and realised I was unconsciously restricting my ability to expand my business and my purpose.
By working on this belief, I consciously shifted my mindset. I started to see money as limitless, as an abundant resource that can flow effortlessly when I allow it. As a result, my relationship with money transformed, and my ability to create, receive, and embrace more of it became my new reality. This shift not only elevated the value of money in my life but also expanded my impact and purpose in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
True transformation begins with simple awareness

So, where does money sit in your value hierarchy right now? Is it high enough to drive the actions you need to take, or is it being held back by unconscious beliefs?
