When it comes to manifesting success in your business and life, it’s not just about asking for what you want - it’s about how you ask. The energy behind your intentions profoundly influences whether you’ll attract the success, freedom, and abundance you desire, or if you’ll remain stuck in a cycle of wanting.
Therefore, I wish to invite you to dive into the 8 underlying energies that strongly shape how you ask. Together, we will look at how to shift them and how to open yourself up to receiving your biggest business breakthroughs.
The Energy of Asking
You may already know the formula: Ask, Allow, Receive. But have you ever paused to consider the energy you bring to your asking? It’s not just about the words you say or the goals you set - it’s about the vibration you emit.
Think about it for a moment: You can have the most powerful intentions in the world - whether it’s growing your business, attracting more clients, or experiencing more freedom - but if the energy behind your asking isn’t aligned with your desires, you’ll encounter resistance. Do you ask from a place of confidence and alignment, or from a space of doubt and scarcity?
Let’s explore the eight underlying energies that may be influencing how you ask and how you can shift them for greater business success.

1. "I Want" energy
This is the most common energy. You say, "I want more clients," "I want more money," or "I want more success." But when you ask from the energy of “I Want”, what are you actually focusing on? The lack. You’re acknowledging that you don’t have what you desire and so you manifest more wanting rather than receiving.
Picture yourself standing in your business, saying, “I want more clients.” How does that feel? Does it feel expansive or heavy? Can you notice that subtle tension? You’re actually pushing what you desire further away by reinforcing the gap between you and your goal.
How to shift it: Instead of saying “I want,” start visualising what it would feel like to already have what you desire. Imagine the clients booking your services, the abundance flowing into your business. How would you move, talk, and feel if that reality was already yours? Start shifting your language from “I want” to “I am receiving.”
2. "I Dream" energy
Are you dreaming of success without fully stepping into it? “I Dream” can be a beautiful place to start because it opens you up to possibilities. But if you stay in the energy of dreaming, you never quite take the steps to turn those dreams into reality. You remain in a state of “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if…”
Just picture yourself sitting back, daydreaming about your thriving business. What are you seeing in your mind’s eye? Are you feeling inspired, or is there a sense of detachment, as if the dream is far off? While dreaming feels pleasant, it doesn’t move you toward your goal. The dream remains just that - a dream.
How to shift it: Move from dreaming to deciding. Instead of “I dream of having a successful business,” say, “I decide to create this business now.” Can you feel the shift in energy? You’re no longer passively hoping for success—you’re claiming it as yours. Begin by visualising your dream as reality, then take inspired action toward it.
3. "I Hope" Energy
How often have you said, "I hope this works"? “I Hope” is an energy of uncertainty. You’re not quite sure whether what you want will come to pass. You’re still hanging onto doubt as if you’re unsure if your success is even possible. When you hope, you’re sending mixed signals to the universe - part of you believes, but part of you is unsure.
You’re asking with uncertainty. You hope your clients will come, hope your business will take off, but you’re not fully believing that it will.
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a bridge, looking at the business success you desire on the other side. Are you hoping the bridge will appear, or are you stepping confidently onto it, knowing it’s already there? Feel the difference.
How to shift it: Replace hope with certainty. Start affirming, “This is happening for me.” Speak it, feel it, and embody it. When you bring certainty into your intentions, the universe meets you with clarity and support and you magnetise the very success you’re hoping for.
4. "I Need" / "I Must" Energy
This energy comes from a place of urgency and desperation. “I need this to happen,” “I must succeed, or else.” You’re telling the universe that you’re not okay until this goal is achieved. This creates an energy of forcing, which often leads to burnout and frustration.
It's like pushing a boulder up a hill, sweating and straining to keep it moving. That’s the feeling of “I Need” and “I Must”. It’s a relentless grind, driven by fear that if you don’t achieve this goal, something is missing.
How to shift it: Instead of pushing from a place of need, move into the energy of “I choose”. “I choose to create this result. Notice how different that feels in your body. You’re no longer grasping at success; you’re choosing it with intention and ease.
5. "I Can" / "I Will" Energy
This energy feels stronger. You believe in your ability to succeed and you say, “I can do this,” or “I will make it happen.” But here’s the catch - “I Can” and “I Will” place your success in the future. You’re projecting your desires into tomorrow, rather than embracing them in the present.
It’s as if you’re constantly looking ahead, waiting for that moment when success will finally arrive. It always feels just a step away, doesn’t it? The problem with this energy is that it delays your results.
Shift it: Bring your success into the present with “I am creating this now”. Instead of “I will grow my business,” say, “I am growing my business now.” Your energy shifts from waiting to receiving. Claim it as yours in the present moment, and take actions that align with this belief.
6. "I Choose" / "I Claim" Energy
This is where true empowerment begins. “I Choose” and “I Claim” are powerful declarations that you’re no longer asking for success- you’re deciding to create it. You’re stepping into the energy of the woman who makes things happen, the woman who knows she can manifest her desires.
Imagine standing tall, with your head held high. You look at your business and your future. Instead of hoping or waiting, you say with confidence, “I choose this. This is mine.” Feel that power surge through you. You’re no longer trying - you’re claiming it. It’s already yours, and now it’s just a matter of aligning with it.
Embrace it: Whenever you set a new intention, say, “I choose this. I claim this as mine.” Let that certainty guide your actions and decisions. You are the creator of your reality, and you are choosing the outcomes you desire.
7. "I Am" Energy
The most powerful energy you can embody is “I Am”. It’s not about becoming - you’re declaring that you are the person who already has what she desires. You say, “I am a successful entrepreneur,” “I am abundant,” “I am a leader in my field.” There is no separation between you and your goals because you’re living them in the present.
How would it feel walking through your day as if you’ve already achieved your biggest goals? What would change about how you speak, how you carry yourself, how you show up in your business if you fully embodied “I Am”?
Embrace it: Start using “I am” statements every day. “I am attracting my ideal clients.” “I am creating a thriving business.” Let this energy infuse your actions and see how your reality begins to shift in alignment with your declarations.
8. "I Love" Energy
The highest energy of all is “I Love”. When you operate from the energy of love, you’re fully embracing your goals and intentions. You fully embrace the process, the challenges, the growth, and the outcome. You’re giving yourself fully to the process of creation, surrendering to the flow of life, and allowing everything to unfold naturally.
Picture yourself holding your intentions in your heart. How does it feel to love your business, your clients, your success? Imagine speaking to your goals as if they’re living, breathing entities. “I love you. I’m here for you. I’m giving myself fully to creating you.” Feel the ease and joy that come with this deep surrender.
Embrace it: Talk to your intentions with love. “I love this business,” “I love this vision,” “I love the woman I’m becoming.” When you love your intentions, they flow to you naturally, with ease and grace. Love is the ultimate energy of creation, and when you embody it, your entire reality begins to shift.
