6 HIGH-END SALES IN 5 DAYS – HOW TO DO IT ACCORDING TO MY BABY BOY
I was washing the dishes in the kitchen when he showed me his little cup and said: “Mama!” … meaning, I should fill the cup with the water.
I happily did, and he balanced his way out of the kitchen into the garden and gave the flowers something to drink.
He appeared back in less than one minute. “All right then,” I said, filling the cup again.
After the tenth time of filling the cup, I wasn’t that amused anymore.
“The last time Thomas, ok?” I said when filling his tiny cup. (As you can imagine, the half of the water ended up on the floor rather than flower beds.)
A minute later, and Thomas was back. “Mama!” he looked into my eyes and excitedly showing me his empty cup.
“No.” – mama said.
He clearly didn’t hear it. Or simply refused to. He opened the palm of my hand and GAVE me the cup. Then he pulled my other hand towards the kitchen sink.
I like to be the woman of my word, but it was IMPOSSIBLE in this instance.
I filled that freakin’ cup, and I filled it another 10 or so times until I run away from the kitchen (after wiping down the floor, I should add).
7 STEPS TO CREATE A QUEUE OF SOUL, HIGH-END CLIENTS...
What can I say? My little man is a persuasive seller. Like most children, I can imagine.
First, they ask us for a micro-action.
That micro-action gives us immediate pleasure (who doesn’t like to see their child happy)? Whether it’s making that silly face, throwing that ball, or filling that cup. And once you do it once – oh boy. They have you hooked. 50 rounds later, you wonder how they can STILL find it funny.
The power of micro-action should not be underestimated in business. This is why the ‘trip-wire’ type of products work really well in business. Once the client purchases a no-brainer fee product and gets instant pleasure, it is much easier to go for the further paid offerings in the future.
Second, they are rather repetitive.
How many times did you give up and did exactly what you child asked you to do because they were so bloody stubborn?
In business, we call this principle “effective frequency.” Many potential clients need to be exposed to your message as many as seven times in order to make a decision.
Third, they SHOW us what to do.
Just as my kiddo was putting a cup in my hand and leading me to the kitchen sink, your clients too need to see what they need to do to succeed clearly. Illustrate results/transformation for them.
Finally, kids have got this aura of certainty.
They just KNOW they will succeed. The energy of certainty is incredibly powerful. The emotional state you’re in, and the words you use when selling create either certainty or uncertainty in the minds of your potential clients. Never both. Consider this the next time you write that sales page, that Facebook Ad, that newsletter.
